About Us

Our Company History

John Horridge established Nova Millwrights Ltd in 1988. In 1995 he retired, passing on the business to son Steve and daughter Debra. In 2000 they decided to expand. Steve took over Nova Millwrights Ltd and Debra started the contracting side of the business, developing Nova Millwrights Contracting Ltd which provided onsite technical services.

In 2023 Debra and Steve decided it was time to retire. Nova Millwrights Contracting Ltd and Nova Millwrights Ltd merged on July 1, 2023, into Nova Millwrights Limited; under guidance of Chris Baylis and long time employee Robert Campbell. We now employ several trades; Millwrights, Welders, Pipefitters, Power engineers, Machinists, Apprentices and Labourers.

Nova Millwrights Limited currently provides a dependable and flexible contracting workforce serving the Maritimes as well as an expanding welding/fabrication and machining shop.  Our main activities are fabrication of parts, hoses and bearings, installations, modifications, repairs and preventive maintenance programs.

In late 2024, we started an expansion of our offices and machining shop. It should be completed in the spring of 2025. This will allow us to service our customers more effectively.
